Hi,

I have 2 servers: one enterprise and one slave running WSP. Now, I want to migrate both into one. All data now are in the slave server, so I want to get rid of the enterprise server, keep the slave and convert it to SolidCP.

From the migration guide, it shows how to upgrade the enterprise server. Is there anyway to do it for the slave server?

Thank you.

Hello,

The migration guide shows how to migrate Portal, Enterprise and Server modules (all 3)

Server module if on multiple server should be repeated on all servers.

If you want to get rid of the enterprise server the most easy way is to make a fresh Enterprise installation on the new server, then convert the web.config of Enterprise with the settings of the old enterprise,  and identical for the enterprisebin scheduler config.

Regards,

Marco

Hello,

Thanks for answering.

A fresh enterprise installation on the new server => do you mean that I should have a new server, and install a new WSP enterprise? Can't I upgrade the current WSP server to WSP enterprise?

Thanks.

oh no i didn't mean that.

You said:

So i assume Enterprise is on a server you plan to de-comission.

Then you can upgrade the old Enterprise DB, but install a new Enterprise site (this way you don't need to manually migrate anything, and all you do is copy over the web.config and scheduler config settings --> Your old Enterprise can then be decomissioned without much effort or time spent).

Ofcourse you can just migrate as the guide shows without a problem 🙂

Yes, the enterprise is on the server that I plan to decommission. Ok, let me try to list the steps. It's long time that I am touching to this messy WSP, so my head is spinning 🙂
1. On the slave WSP server, I will install the Enterprise module.
2. Copy the web.config from the old Enterprise to the new one.
3. Run convert tool to SolidCP.

Is that correct?
Thanks.

no worries, just remember WSP is just a Website with a Database 🙂

for the most part don't forget to setup the scheduler config file aswell it's needed to execute basic tasks such as calculate bw and so on.
