I just found SolidCP today because I have a dedicate Windows Server 2016 server that I would like to offer hosting on.

I have went through the documentation for installation and supported software/hardware

My questions are:

Is SolidCP more aimed at being installed on a VPS?

I do not have exchange so what exactly can I use for mail?

I'm just going to be offering hosting to friends and family so trying to keep the budget low

Thanks!

Hello,

SolidCP is not aimed at VPS or dedicated servers. Alot of the services will work on both (Nearly everything except the Hypervisor providers).

You can see a list of supported providers at https://solidcp.com/kb/manual/admin/current-supported-providers/ if you look under Mail you can see which software we support.

Thank you,

Trevor,

Thank you for the reply as that helped very much

I spent this weekend setting up Server 2016 up in a VPS and installing SolidCP

A few learning curves but that is on my side from lack of knowledge but I have SolidCP up and running and just spending time getting used to how it handles everything. Going to test more like setting up hmail and such. Hopefully I can deploy SolidCP on my real server next weekend.
