Hi,

When I went to WebSites and enabled Secured Folders it gives me the following Error message:

System.IO.FileNotFoundException:

Could not load file or assembly 'SolidCP.IIsModules, Version=1.0.0.0,

Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=37f9c58a0aa32ff0'

or one of its dependencies.

The system cannot find the file specified.

I am trying to install Helicon Ape from the Server Install from within the Control Panel

Server --> Web PI ---> Helicon Ape

But, each time I try it seems to be stuck installing but never completes.

So far been going for about 10 mins.

Going to the Helicon Ape website seems like there are no longer any free versions.

So how do we have secure folders?

Hello,

Secured folders are more or less legacy (and i strongly recommend not to use them).

However if your required to use them here's a bit of info:.

  1. the native method IISModules is from this plugin:  https://iismodules.codeplex.com/ you can rename SolidCP.IISModules into WebsitePanel.IISModules in the IIS Configuration at solidcp panel to make it work.
  2. Helicon ape: I think this will only automatically install with web deploy and helicon zoo installed, a more easy way around it is to run the installer on your web server directly without trying to install through the portal

A extra note for method 1: It generally does crash on websites having a more complex .htaccess included, in general it bothers users more then it benefits.

To achieve the secured folders manually is also pretty easy:

  1. Enable basic auth
  2. disable anonymous auth
  3. Login with MS FTP accounts that have been given a minimum of read access.

Regards,

Marco

Thanks for your reply.

So it is best to disable the "secure" folder option then?

Use two methods:

1. Basic Auth --> disable anoymous auth --> Login with FTP account
2. Use Asp.net Built in accounts through web app
