Hi Marco,

This error is solved, it was caused by the "compliance management" in Exchange 2013, after a little reboot of the server in trouble all the situation returned to normal.

and when i apply a mailboxplan to a mailbox not more error message and the display is correct.

Error updating mailbox general settings. See audit log for more details.

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. —> System.Exception: Error executing ‘SET_MAILBOXPLAN_RETENTIONPOLICY_ARCHIVING’ task on ‘***@**.**’ EXCHANGE —> System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. —> The request failed. The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. at

At least only missing the edition of global mailbox plan but i promised to wait 2 week 🙂

Regards

James

We have this error if we change the Mailboxplan on some uisers Mailboxes. We was possible to change it on 5 Mailboxes but on 2 we get this error.

( Serverrestart does not help )

Hello,

Retention policy error shouldn't be related to unable to change mailbox plan.

A few things that normally does affect the situation is Recoverable items (both in hosting plan and mailbox plan) it has to be set to 6144 or greater, on some servers it's 6500 or more.

Unlimited or 0 will not cut it (it will error because calendar size is by default 6Gb which it can't be lower in exchange)

Regards,

Marco
