I never used websitepanel and am new to solidcp. I installed it successfully but a little unsure about how to do about setting up servers like filezilla and smartermail and also new customer accounts. Have some creaky old Helm 3 servers running on 2003 server and need to move everything over to a newer control panel.

Should I be searching google for these issues but using websitepanel in my search words? Are websitepanel and solidcp similar enough that setup info about services and adding users would still be relevant?

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm afraid we are a bit behind on documentation (it's definitely in our schedule to focus on that shortly, but with everything going on we did not have time to push that further yet).

You can lookup guides from WebsitePanel (their still pretty similar) altho WebsitePanel always had little documentation it self aswell there are some decent guides out there by other people..

For most services it's pretty straight forward (like Filezilla the main important thing is if your behind nat - set Passive ports properly on Filezilla it self, enable auto ban, etc.) In SolidCP you then just need to feed it the IP.

A small tip i can give you: While setting up / testing make sure to use fake domains / users. for example testdomain1.com etc.

This way if things go wrong you can just delete and move on (no stuck bugs or anything)

Once the testdomain passes all setups you can continue on a real domain 🙂

And ofcourse last but not least: if you do run into any problem or get stuck, we are always around to help you out, so do not hesitate to ask any questions 🙂
