Morning

Slowly going thru our new install. First are there any general doc setups I didnt really see anything in the install.config area

Is there by chance a ps script installer for IIS  I saw mention of it in a post

And now the real question.  Currently when I create a new website the bindings are always set to *  what am I missing in the setup? In the  server config the dropdown for IP is always blank

And  is there a config area for instant alias?  It create the zone ok for it but the only thing there is a SOA

thanks

MIke

Hello,

Unfortunately we are running quite far behind on documentation (and the site in general) in the upcoming weeks the site has my focus point while others took over the codes more which should hopefully solve most documentation problems.

There's an powershell script to automate the full installation and hardening available here:  http://installer.solidcp.com/Files/stable/Tools/SolidCP-Configuration-Tool.zip

Do note the script is still in beta (so it can have some issues, but usually their easily addressed later on).

if websites are created with * it means no ip address has been set in the drop down box in the service settings, you will need to add an ip to the server by going to ip addresses --> add ip address and select the iis server name.

You can then go back to the iis service settings and select the ip from the drop down.

Instant alias is unfortunately bugged, the work around is to create a domain with a wild card *  and the ipaddress to your IIS server, it should then redirect anything for that domain to your iis server, sorting the broken instant alias zone creation.

Regards,

Marco

Hi Marco

thanks I hadjust figured out what I had done wrong. Had entered the IP in the table but assigned them to teh websites pool instead of general. Got that part sorted

Thanks for the note on the tools

The instant alias is agreat idea we set that up alot for incoming customers that need a xev area  before they switch over.  Just need to add our  MSSQL and My Sql servers   a little more testing and we'llstart switching customers
