If the error log shows no error or information it most likely gets hung at a system level.

For SolidCP if the codes error it normally displays an actual error with stack trace on the same page.

When you just get a gateway error i do assume something is blocking the script/request, in general i would be checking firewall / anti-virus / protection / networking.
