Hi everyone,

I’m trying to set up email forwarding for a domain using SolidCP and could use some guidance. Specifically, I’m looking for:

Step-by-step instructions on configuring email forwarding.
Any common issues or pitfalls to watch out for during setup.
Recommendations for best practices to ensure reliability and security.

I also check this: https://solidcp.com/forum/question/exchange-email-forwarding rails If you’ve successfully configured email forwarding in SolidCP, I’d appreciate any tips or advice you can share. Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards

Hello,

Hi there!

Setting up email forwarding in SolidCP is straightforward. Here are the steps and some tips to help you out:

Step-by-Step Instructions
Login to SolidCP:
Open your browser and log in to your SolidCP panel.
Navigate to Email Accounts:
Go to the POP/IMAP Email section.
Select Accounts.
Select the Desired Account:
Click on the email account for which you want to enable forwarding.
Configure Mail Forwarding:
Scroll down to find the Mail Forwarding option.
Enter the email address to which you want the emails to be forwarded.
Optionally, you can check the Delete Message on Forward box if you want the original email to be deleted from the server after forwarding.
Save the Settings:
Click Save to apply the changes.
Common Issues and Pitfalls
Incorrect Email Address: Ensure the forwarding email address is correct to avoid losing emails.
Server Configuration: Make sure your server settings allow for email forwarding. Some configurations might restrict forwarding to external addresses.
Spam Filters: Forwarded emails might be marked as spam by the recipient’s email provider. Ensure proper SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records are set up.
Best Practices for Reliability and Security
Use Strong Passwords: Ensure all email accounts have strong, unique passwords to prevent unauthorized access.
Monitor Forwarding: Regularly check that forwarding is working correctly and that no emails are being lost.
Security Settings: Enable SSL/TLS for email communications to ensure data is encrypted during transmission.
Backup Emails: Keep backups of important emails in case something goes wrong with the forwarding setup.

Hope this will help you,
Best regards,
