Hello,

Are there any plans to add support for IIS URL Rewrite so users can add rules from within the control panel?

Thanks,
Joe

Hello,

Not currently, however if it's something the community is interested in we can always add it to the roadmap. (we go through things step by step, as you can imagine there's plenty to do, fix up, and create)

so far i think people are just using Web.config url rewrites (and more projects start to include web.config to the default deployment such as wordpress).

Regards,

Marco

Hi Marco,
We've been getting more and more clients asking for a way to manage their rewrite rules using the control panel rather than editing the web.config.
I have a hard time telling them that they should just edit the web.config because we are giving them the control panel to do so many other things on their site, so they question why this capability isn't available in the control panel.
I am willing to donate a little to get this added to the priority list.
Thanks,
Joe

P.S. - I'm sorry for missing this but I can't seem to find a roadmap anywhere. Do you publish one?

Actucally i did double check but it doesn't look like for example Plesk supports such feature via gui neither. (for iis)
Personally the big question would be if you want it to do through GUI do you expect just an text area to put the rules in? (pretty similar to editing web.config) or do you seek an interface such as IIS? (very advanced flow of rule sets etc).
The second problem i would see is for any errors in web.config, meaning if they make a wrong rule (somehow, somewhere) solidcp won't be able to load the site (neither would IIS Management) untill web.config is fixed.
