I was wondering what practices are in place to secure SCP ?...

I am setting up on my server and unfortunately my clients have to access the portal through the server IP like this: http://45.34.x.x:2087

this seems very risky exposing server IP and Port for clients, i was hoping i can forward them to something like this: http://scp.mydomain.com

How to do that ?..

Also am still wandering around not able to figure out few things not sure why ?!?

Any idea how to set the auto generate password function for both new user and vps setup to default let's say 8 characters including 1 number only instead of 23+ characters ?!?!...

what other measures i can take to secure SCP...

Many thanks...

Hello,

You can give SolidCP Portal any address you like through the IIS Management --> Bindings. i would always recommend to use a proper SSL certificate and force https instead of http.

In addition for security if you have static ip or use the panel your self local only you can limit Admin logins to specific ips / ranges through the System Settings page.

The password generator always uses the maximum char value in the password policy i would personally leave it as is for generated passwords.

Regards,

Marco

Are there instructions on how to accomplish this?

I would like to use a domain or subdomain to have customers log into the control panel instead of http://IP:9001 and SSL
