Hi,
I have installed SolidCP after using MSPControl for a number of years and throught that a clean install would be better - as we began to run into strange configs and the servers needed upgrades etc so better to refresh the envirnment any how.
Everything looked good and I installed the Standalone Server as the first server in the environment - with the intention of only using it for the Portal and Enterprise server.
I immediately then added the First DNS server - Which I did have some interesting time doing as it is the latest version of SimpleDNS 8.0 but I finally got it going. After trial and error, I saw that creating new domains was an issue when you did not pass at least to NS records when creating a new zone but that's different issue.
I then thought I would add my second DNS server and set it up as the Secondary DNS server entry, but I still needed to pass the record when adding the domain (not too intuitive I thought) but then onto creating a hosting package and my first client can continue to create and edit domains while any new client that uses a hosting package linked to a Virtual Server that uses services from a combination of physical hosts cannot lists domains to either have them imported or create websites correctly - I basically get errors all over.
I am sure this is something that is rooted in an original configuration problem - is there anyone that is able to assist or has been down this rabbit hole?
There is very little on line for the new version of SolidCP and the Manuals are unfortunately are quite sparse and lacking - or I cant find them....
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Antony
Hello,
You should just add the primary NS to the virtual server and this should allow you to see the domains listed on this server.
If you add both it will check the one assigned when the hosting plan has been created.

Hi Trevor,
I have a Virtual Server that has only the Primary NS - and it still does not list the domains - I have created a new hosting plan and client and then on attempting to either create a new space for the customer I get an error and if I create a space without resources and then import, I can import anything else but listing domains fails with no error on screen.
Kind regards.
Antony
Hello,
On your SimpleDNS server can you check the Windows eventlog under Applications -> SolidCP. See if it does report any errors there?
I have checked that SimpleDNS 8 import does work on SolidCP 1.4.4 in our lab to rule that out as a possible issue.
Kind Regards,
