I already found this article: https://solidcp.com/forum/question/ftp-installation-and-setup/
But it’s missing the step I’m looking for… the first step. 😀
I found FTP as a hosting add-on, but I can’t figure out how to add FTP to a hosting plan. I managed to add the FTP add-on to one of the spaces, but it doesn’t show anywhere doing it that way either.
I’ve gone into the Configuration > Servers > My Server > Settings and added FTP there, but that also doesn’t work.
Does anyone have any step-by-step directions on where and how to add FTP support to the hosting plan?
I’m running v1.4.7 by the way. 🙂
I think the part your missing is going to Configuration -> Servers -> Settings next to the server which runs FTP -> Click Add next to FTP.
This has to be completed by each provider you want to add to a server.
I can see you edited the question just after i replied. If you are using a Virtual Server in the hosting plan you need to add the resources there first.
If you are just using the Target server as the server with FTP it should show.
Thanks for the reply, Trevor. It looks like I was updating my question at the same time you were answering. I think there’s still a missing step. I’ve done that.
I thought maybe I wasn’t using the correct provider, but I think I am.
Microsoft FTP Server 10.0 (for Windows Server 2016)
Actually, I think the issue here is that this is an imported site that was already on the server. 🙂
Ok, Can you tell me if you have FTP listed in the hosting plan if you try edit it in Account Menu -> Hosting Plans?
I went and looked at Account Menu > Hosting Plans > My Server (takes me to Edit Hosting Plan)
I do not see it there at first, but then it appeared after a bit of back and forth. I checked that checkbox to include it in the Hosting Plan, but the plan doesn’t show the FTP option in the Account Home for the given hosting space when I view it as the admin.
Can you maybe try do Ctrl + F5 on the page to see if that helps?
When you load the space you should be able to select Space Statistics -> Edit space details (right hand side). Can you check you have “Use quotas defined on the Plan level” selected? If you have override you will need to manually add FTP on this screen.
Ah.. Yes. The “Use quotas defined on the Plan level” option is selected, and I also see an empty placeholder where FTP appears that it should be in the list of services.
If I switch to “Override quotas on Space level” all options appear and I can see FTP there, unchecked. I’m unable to check it to add it to the Space though. When I hover, I get the “not-allowed” mouse cursor.
On that page you should see Target Server: <ServerName>
If you go to Configuration -> Servers -> Does <ServerName> match the one which has FTP listed under it?
