Hello,

I recently upgraded my SolidCP to version 1.4.2, but cannot remember exactly which version was used previously, though I'm pretty sure it was 1.3.x.
However, after the upgrade to version 1.4.2, I've run into a problem with newly created OU's in Active Directory, the problem is that the new OU's are set to NOT inherit permissions, which causes a big problem for me, as the default permissions are disregarded, which makes several important services unable to read information from the new OU's (such as NPS).
More precisely, the problem seems to be that inherited permissions are disabled after the OU has been created, but almost all permissions (except "Authenticated Users") are kept when the inheritance is disabled. The removal of "Authenticated Users" is what's causing the problem.

When was this change implemented and why?
I cannot find anything specific about this in the release notes, except the following notes for version 1.4.1:

  • Further fix's for dSHeuristics.
  • SetOUSecurity 10 second delay due to fix OU creation.

This however, does not mean much to me, as I'm not a developer of SolidCP 🙂

As a temporary work around, I've started enabling inheritance of permissions on all newly created OU's, but if this will cause future problems with SolidCP it does not sound like a good solution, and to do this manually is quite a pain.

Any input on why permission inheritance was removed after SolidCP 1.3.x and the reason for this?
