Thanks again Marco
Ok, so it seems I am confusing myself here. When I set up SolidCP I fumbled my way through until I got it working. I did everything you said in the "Virtual Server" configuration settings and then noted that I had another configuration setting for "Servers". When I went into those settings and added the Preview Domain and saved it, I then had the option to enable the Preview Domain in the clients account, which I did. But then when I tested the preview domain, I yet again got the IIS splash page (even after clearing all cache). I checked the IIS management and the website in question on the server, and all bindings are there as far as I can see. My lack of knowledge with this is leaving something very obvious unaccounted for, but I just can't work out what it is.

oh, and in answer to your question; yes, I did create the website long before I created the preview domain for it.

Another odd thing. After I checked it originally it was still showing the ISS splash page as I said, but I then tried again and it loaded the website at the preview domain! I thought then that it was because I had been to quick in checking after changing the settings, so I tried another browser, but it showed the IIS splash page. I then went back to my original browser and refreshed the website again, and it too went back to the IIS Splash Page and no longer worked. What does this indicate when it works just once and then stops?

...and now a further update; since the change I made above and it went back to the IIS splash page, it now no longer goes to the IIS Splash page either, now I just get a message as below instead:
This site can’t be reached

server IP address could not be found.

Something here will probably give you the clue you need.

Thi function is definately not working in 1.4, The control panel has been configured correct, the a records etc defined, in iis, ip etc, but when you add the preview domain it adds the dns link etc but the A record for the site is never added.

The issue when you disable and reenable a dns zone, the dns loses the www and parent record for the zne despite the www and parent zone records being defined under iis. only the wildcard * record is added back,

Could you just tell me what I am missing in the DNS records and I will do it manually in DNS Manager, by-passing SolidCP.
