Why do I see the following message when I want to install an SSL certificate for a domain that never exists with Lets Encrypt Certificate?

Hello,

What message do you see?

In general you need to make sure that all bindings (domains) are resolveable on that site via port 80, if it can not verify even one binding it will fail to verify certificate for you.

Regards,

Marco

Shouldn't it give an error message?

Hello,

I should give you an error.

I have logged as bug as there appears to be an issue with correctly showing errors when the LE-Win-Simple fails.

Thanks,

Trevor Robinson
