I am unable to send any emails to my clients although i entered all the correct details in Mail Settings !...

When i try to do so I get the following error:

SMTP Error: General failure
The transaction could not occur. You receive this error when the specified SMTP host cannot be found.

SCP is working fine for the most part but am not sure is there is some roles or settings i need to do at the HOST end for emailing users to work fine or is SCP solely handling emails ?...

help greatly appreciated...

Hello,

You will often see that error when:
1. Local network without nat reflection enabled --> so the server can't actually reach the smtp server.

2. smtp protocol differs from configuration (port / auth type).

Most easy is to install Telnet client on the SolidCP Portal/ enterprise and try connecting to the mail server with the exact same settings from the actual SolidCP Portal server.

Regards,

Marco

wow, that wasn't straight forward like i thought, i think sticking to whmcs mailing function is much straight forward and reliable IMO, but thank you really for clarifying this matter to me...
