From your link:

Migrating from WebsitePanel Enterprise Server to SolidCP is relatively straight forward:

  1. Delete all contents of your current WebsitePanel Enterprise (default path: c:WebsitePanelEnterprise Server)
  2. Once the Enterprise directory is empty you can copy and paste all files from the SolidCP Enterprise zip file into the WebsitePanel Enterprise Server folder.

I'm confuse with no 1 and no 2. Is this correct? Old server using website panel and new server using solidcp. Why need to delete from old server?? Please explain to me so i understand.

The migration is not to move from server1 to server2, but to upgrade your existing WSP Enterprise to the SolidCP Enterprise.

There for you delete the contents from the directory as you do not want any old websitepanel files remaining (as alot of files especially dll's are named with WebsitePanel. infront of it --> it can cause issues with loading the proper dll's, as some of them are loaded dynamically <everything in that file>

The migration manuals from WSP to SolidCP are all written so you migrate websitepanel to SolidCP on the same server (not different servers).

If your moving servers you can just install SolidCP the normal way with installer, then replace the web.config cipher key and connection settings with the one from your WebsitePanel Enterprise server web.config.

Move your websitepanel db to the new server assuming you change SQL Servers aswell.

then only thing left is to run the upgrade_db.sql on your old WebsitePanel database and your done.
