Currently we have our Enterprise Server deployed on our web server, and I would like to know is there a way to move it from the existing server to say our SQL server? I don't know if it is easy to move the SolidCP roles around to different servers or not.

Thanks!

Hello,

It is possible to move the Enterprise server. The best way is to install a new enterprise using a new SQL database and then move the web.config (C:SolidCPEnterprise Server) and SolidCP.SchedulerService.exe.config (C:SolidCPEnterprise Serverbin) from the old server to the new one.

We would recommend you backup your database as when you remove the old Enterprise server it will remove the active DB which will need to be restored. Please also ensure the SolidCP service has been stopped.

You will need to also update the Portal with the new URL. You will find the setting in SiteSettings.config located in C:SolidCPPortalApp_Data.

Thanks,

Trevor

Thanks Trevor. One question I have is you said "We would recommend you backup your database as when you remove the old Enterprise server it will remove the active DB which will need to be restored."

Is there a removal tool or something I need to run to remove Enterprise Server from the existing installation? Right now I have the Portal, Enterprise and Server roles installed on one VM and a separate VM with SQL installed on it. My goal is to put Enterprise and SQL together on one VM.

Thanks,

One other thing I noticed is when I attempted to install Enterprise on my SQL server using the SolidCPInstaller.msi it errors out saying a new versions of SolidCP Installer is already installed which I didn't install. Could this be because the old WebsitePanel installer is still in Add/Remove Programs? Is it safe to remove that without causing any issue and then re-install SolidCP Installer?
