Hi there,
We have a fresh SolidCP setup - our hosting side is working great so far; but we are trying to add our Hyper-V hosts and running into issues.
We have installed the Server component on each Hyper-V host and added the server into SolidCP. SolidCP is able to scan for software successfully, however it is unable to find the Hyper-V service.
When adding the VPS - Hyper-V service, we get an error that it is unable to connect to Hyper-V server.
The Host servers are Windows Server 2012R2 and are otherwise working properly.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
There is nothing specific that should be needed for it to work.
Are you using local or remote HyperV?
Can you also check the Windows eventlog of the server for SolidCP under Applications to see if an error is reported?
Kind regards,
Trevor Robinson
This is local hyper-v.
On the Hyper-V, I do see:
ERROR: 'Microsoft Hyper-V' GetExternalSwitches
System.Management.ManagementException: Invalid class
at System.Management.ManagementException.ThrowWithExtendedInfo(ManagementStatus errorCode)
at System.Management.ManagementObjectCollection.ManagementObjectEnumerator.MoveNext()
at SolidCP.Providers.Virtualization.HyperV.GetExternalSwitches(String computerName)
at SolidCP.Server.VirtualizationServer.GetExternalSwitches(String computerName)
There is nothing relevant in the event log on the panel server.
Are you trying to use Hyper-V 2008 or Hyper-V 2012?
The SolidCP Hyper-V 2008 service doesn't support windows 2012 R2. Please use the Hyper-V 2012 service (VPS2012).
we have this same problem except we are using server 2022, any solution ?...
