Hi,

I have a WSP v1.2.1 system, the reason we are on such an old version if due to a legacy windows 2003 server which can't be upgraded.

I want to upgrade to SolidCP but also need to keep the 2003 server in the system until we can migrate everyone which may take some time.

I thought it might be better to keep the WSP system running but serving only the 2003 customers, and upgrade a duplicate to SolidCP and remove the 2003 server and users from that config.

Can WSP and SolidCP (enterprise and portal) be run side by side with WSP (enterprise and portal) on the same server (2012 server)? I am assuming they can?

Regards

Sam

Hello,

SolidCP does support win 2003 aswell so thats not an issue.

I would however highly recommend to upgrade your 2003 servers if not only for security reasons (easy to find a backdoor in 2003 machines).

But to answer your question yes, you can run them side by side aslong as you handle the urls properly, as by default both will want to use the same ports, but in both cases their adjustable (either by bindings or by setup).

In the end SolidCP and WebsitePanel are just websites with a database 🙂

Regards,

Marco

Both should work simultaneously. You just need to make sure that you either use different port or IP for SolidCP and WebsitePanel websites in IIS. But it is better to move away from Windows 2003 server as soon as possible.
