Hello,

we have an ooold WebsitePanel (1.2.1) installed, and configured. It has some servers (DNS, Exchange, etc), a lot of hosting spaces, users, etc, etc. I tried several times to upgrade, to SolidCP, but unfortunately the luck wasnt 100%. They updated websitepanel works only partially. I reverted now back to 1.2.1, but i still wanted to upgrade for a fully functional SolidSP, because we started to use an unsopported (by WP 1.2.1) version of Exchange + we have a lot of users, customers, etc in WP - DB. Also i would like to ask you if it would be possible to import the current users, mail addresses, etc into a newly installed SolidCP? (maybe this would be the clearest method for us).

Thank you.

Hello,

If your coming from 1.2.1 you will first need to update your database to wsp 2.0

I have uploaded the WSP Manual update package here:  http://installer.solidcp.com/Files/WSP/Manual-Update-sp-2.0.0.zip

Once the websitePanel database is 2.0, you should have no issues updating to SolidCP 1.2.0.

If you still encounter any issues i am happy to take a look for you and help you with the upgrade (do note when i look in person i am required to charge a hourly fee as per company rules).

Regards,

Marco

Hello,

thank you for the reply.

Yes, i did like that: first DB update from 1.2.1 to 2.0 (this was without any error), then i tried to update into SolidCP 1.0.3 then 1.0.1 (two separately update attempts from my original DB).

I can try directly 1.2.0 from WSP 1.2.1 > WSP 2.0 > SCP 1.2.0 or i need to use any lower SCP first? (like 1.0.3, etc.)

Lets recapitulate again: first i need to update the DB from WSP 1.2.1 into the WSP 2.0 ( with Manual-Update-sp-2.0.0.zip ), then this DB update into the latest SCP with http://installer.solidcp.com/Files/1.2.0/Manual-Update.zip ? I prefer manual update, because if i cant update into a good and workable SCP, then its easier to the semi-workable WSP (we "upgraded" into Exchange 2010 SP3, and unfortunately the the WSP 1.2.1 cant manage the mail account anymore with that (create, change, pass change, etc.)).

I`m right with these all?

Also, please give me a PM with your fees, and maybe we can do a deal with that too :).

Thanks,

BR,

Boti.

LE: This is the error what i get when i try to update from WSP2 DB into a SCP 1.2.1 DB (with the sql file from  http://installer.solidcp.com/Files/1.2.0/Manual-Update.zip ) :  https://codeshare.io/G6437k .

Just to be sure:

  1. Update to wsp 2.0 using  http://installer.solidcp.com/Files/WSP/Manual-Update-sp-2.0.0.zip  (just the database)
  2. Update to scp 1.2.0 (latest) For the actual files you will need to: Delete all WSP files, replace it with the FULL packages of SCP (do keep a backup of WSP web.configs, as you will need the password value from the wsp server's, and the cipher and connection string values from the enterprise)
  3. Update the database with the scp 1.2.0 sql update script (remove the top 2 lines).

In essence besides the SQL upgrade of wsp 2.0 the rest stays identical to the manual i written a long while ago:  https://solidcp.com/kb/installation/migrate-websitepanel-solidcp/
