Getting the following error when trying to edit a SmarterMail account:

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> Could not get mailbox ---> One or more errors occurred. ---> Unexpected character encountered while parsing value: <. Path '', line 0, position 0.
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters)
at SolidCP.Providers.Mail.MailServer.GetAccount(String accountName)
at SolidCP.EnterpriseServer.MailServerController.GetMailAccount(Int32 itemId)
at SolidCP.EnterpriseServer.esMailServers.GetMailAccount(Int32 itemId)
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters)
at SolidCP.EnterpriseServer.esMailServers.GetMailAccount(Int32 itemId)
at SolidCP.Portal.MailAccountsEditAccount.BindItem()

If I try to add a new mailbox, no error is returned but neither is the mailbox created.

I upgraded the server from the SM10 service by simply switching the serviceID - were there any other settings that needed to be switched?

Tried creating a completely new virtual server with the 100.x SM - setup a new hosting plan and everything, but still nope.

Cant add accounts, no error returned.

Actually there is an error in the Log

Server was unable to process request. ---> One or more errors occurred. ---> Unexpected character encountered while parsing value: <. Path '', line 0, position 0.
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters)
at SolidCP.Providers.Mail.MailServer.AccountExists(String accountName)
at SolidCP.EnterpriseServer.MailServerController.AddMailAccount(MailAccount item)

It shoudn't be using SOAP though should it?

It looks like the SM100 dll has a dependency on the SM10 one, is it supposed to be like that?

As far as I was aware, SM100 shouldn't use SOAP at all...

Hi Ben,

We have a problem with the use of the SM10 because it uses the legacyAPI that smarter tools wants to disable, but when we try to use the SM100 we get same error as you. I looks that you found something, can you have any information that you can share so we can correct the error and update the project without the bug?

Regards,

SR
