Can someone give me some directions on setting up a RDS environment in SolidCP, this is what I have done so far
setup 3 servers ( 1 Connection Broker, 1 Gateway / WebAccess and 1 SessionHost)
installed SolidCP server component on the 3 servers
add them to SolidCP Server section (none of the server detected the RDS role, add it manual to the session host server)
what are the next steps after this?
Is there any instruction for adding RDS servers? I’m not sure what to use for Root OU and Computers Root OU, and I get an error (below) when I try to add the server to RDS Servers. I’m not even sure what functionality SolidCP provides for RDS. Any additional documentation would be greatly appreciated. I’m loving SolidCP for managing my Exchange server! Thank you!
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. —> Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Very sorry about the delay in the docs. I will make sure these are finished by the end of next week.
These are example of the settings we use in our environment:
Root OU: Customers\RDS
Computer Root OU: Customers\RDS\Computers
You will need to make these OU’s before you set them.
I’ve set these fields but it doesn’t seem to be working. I created a hosting space with RDS for a test client but no RDS options show up under that client’s account.
Under configuration i see RDS Servers, when I try to add the domain name of my RDS server it errors with Fully Qualified Domain Name not valid. It’s a valid name and resolves fine on the SolidCP server. Thanks for any help.
I just wanted to give you a update that I haven’t forgotten the RDS documentation. We have been spending alot of time over the last few weeks to fix lots of bugs in the RDS module.
We will be releasing 1.1.2 shortly with these bugs fixed and some documentation will follow shortly afterwords.
Thank you for your patience on this.
We have now released the manual at https://solidcp.com/kb/configuration/setup-microsoft-rds-remote-desktop-services/. The video for this will follow at some point.
Please do note the requirements on the version of SolidCP. We have made alot of changes to Enterprise, Portal & Server code to get this working.
