The problem is that SolidCP is made for segregation of everything. (not just boss vs staff, but also think about multiple organizations which have nothing to do with eachother who can see eachothers status's, or SfB, etc).
Thats not going to happen with out of the box microsoft (in many aspects not just exchange).
The problem is that default perms are statically coded (and not easily possible to develop that into the panel dynamically)
Where assuming group based permissions works (which hopefully is fully fixed by next release) it is just adding the perm for the mailbox to allow everyone with 1 (or 2) clicks via SolidCP.
It was the easiest way that we saw to meet everyone in the middle and with an eye on segregation and security as primary concern.
Wait, I'm not talking about modifying the "default" user permissions. I'm talking about adding the organizations security group for at free/busy on mailbox creation back the way it used to work. No one else outside the organization would even see the free/busy info at that point.
Hello,
As Marco has suggested going forward the default will be no permissions for the default user. You will be able to add a group permission soon but currently it is not possible.
We could further look into adding a possible checkbox for the default Hosted org security group but this is going to be a large piece of work and we would not be able to guarantee a date unless this work is completed with a sponsor to pay for developer time.
Kind Regards,
Trevor Robinson
If i did want to sponsor for dev time how do i find information on how to do that?
Checking to see if this got addressed. I've upgraded a UAT environment to 1.4.1 and I'm not seeing any capacity to add the default security group to the calendar.
