Is there any way to install and auto renew a Let's Encrypt Cert for SolidCP Portal (myserver.domain.tld:9001)?
I could not find this option on the portal, could somebody elaborate how to achieve this?
Thanks in advance
You cant from solidcp initially, it requires that the website is public and running on port 80 to authenticate first before it creates the sites. The issue is you could add your subdomain of your portal to solidcp, but you would have to ensure it is on that same server as your portal, then enable solidcp with ssl, it becomes a bit of a PITA.
What you can do however is use the certifytheweb program to set it up on the iis website once your portal is installed create a cert for your portal and it will update your certs automatically for you and you can basically forget it. it uses the letsencrypt acme software and its free as well.
Hello TechGuy, thanks for your reply, i already follow your suggestion to use certifytheweb and it was easy to create the cert for my SolidCP Portal Website, however when i go to https://myserver.domain.tld:9001 i got this:
An error occurred during a connection to myserver.domain.tld:9001. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. Error code: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG
Certifytheweb shows that my cert is enabled, valid and expires in 89 days, im missing something?
Hello,
Are you sure it didnt create the SSL binding for port 443? If it did you can use https://myserver.domain.tld
Kind Regards,
Trevor
Hi Trevor, thanks for your reply
if i use https://myserver.domain.tld (without the 9001 port) i got this error:
An error occurred during a connection to myserver.domain.tld. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR
