Was looking for a manual or guide for the above, but wasn't able to locate them.
Anyone able to share the steps in getting these integrated?
Currently inside my SolidCP, DNS and FTP (in Hosting Plan) are grayed out (cannot be ticked the check box).
I already have Windows Server DNS and Windows FTP installed on the same SolidCP standalone server.
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
We currently do not have a guide created but I will make a note for this to be done in the future.
Can you tell me if you have added the server into Configuration -> Servers? Once you add a server there you can add IIS and MS FTP Server providers which you will be able to select in a hosting plan.
Thanks,
Trevor
I’ve added DNS and FTP as services inside Configuration > Servers > My Server (the existing server with OS, Web, and SQL services). Now I’ve OS, Web, SQL, DNS, and FTP services under My Server.
Still not able to activate (tick the check box) in Hosting Plan. Did I do it wrongly?
I tested FTP with an existing username created through SolidCP and it doesn’t permit me to login. Also tested creating DNS A record but it doesn’t show up in Windows DNS Management console.
Hello,
For the Hosting plan page did you select either the server or a virtual server (With the services added) in the Target Server drop down?
Thanks,
Trevor
Okay, I've managed to get this sorted out. Hosting Plan's DNS and FTP services has to be enabled in Server Admin level not reseller level. Once enabled from Server Admin level, now my reseller user can create them for individual users.
My FTP user creation is working, inside Windows users and groups the SolidCP FTP user is created. Also my DNS primary zone and DNS records are created when Users add new domain into their hosting account from User's home/ Hosting Spaces.
Thanks for the assistance! 🙂
BTW, what's the difference between services in Virtual Servers and Servers? I enabled both my FTP and DNS services in Virtual Servers and Servers. Not sure what's the impact to these actions. Should it be enabled on both?
Hope that an official guide/ manual will be released in the near future so newbies like me will know how to set it up correctly. 🙂
