Hello, I am currently working with SolidCP because we want to build a hosting service. We are currently testing several control panels, one of which is now SolidCP.
What bothers me a bit is that it is very poorly documented, which I know only from the Linux area.
Anyway, we want to test to build a realistic scenario as possible and are not very clear how it works with SolidCp.
Building an All in One SolidCP server does not seem to be the optimal solution.
Ev. Once someone has a drawing in the recognizable is how the optimal structure of a solution looks like.
For example:
1) Which servers are needed for SolidCP
2) On which server should be installed which SolidCP role
3) Which servers belong in the DMZ
4) Which in the internal lan.
5) Do all servers managed by SolidCP have to be members of a domain?
6) Where do the mail servers go?
7) Is there a proxy for SolidCP that belongs in the DMZ?
Can someone send me a drawing where the typical structure for a hosting company can be seen?
I would like to thank you once for answering the questions.
Hello,
There's not really a single blueprint for SolidCP as it 100% depends how large, or small your environment is, and what services you want to provide.
In basic essense: Portal + Enterprise = Frontend+backend, Server = execution part on the server(s) them selfs (this should usually be installed for each server with a role).
Which services are you planning for?
Regards,
Marco
Hello Marco, thanks for the answer, i have sit yesterday and make a small drawing. I am not sure its all correct but i think for a professional hosting i have to go that way, can you take a look on it and tell me if my plan is ok or where i did make some wrong ?
For the most part it will work.
however for SolidCP enterprise, please note the scheduler service should be in failover HA not in loadbalanced (else it executes everything double on cron, not something you want).
Also how do you plan to cluster mssql?
