i've changed the config in the file to the server ip address and it comes up. if i put the bindings, for 127.0.0.1, how will i be able to access it from an external system

You just set the bindings for enterprise server to 127.0.0.1. This is not connected to directly by anybody as they use the Portal.

Both in the IIS and in the Config txt file?

Thats correct if you adjust the enterprise binding.

I've put the bindings for both 127.0.0.1 and the server IP address. I can access all but the Portal from both the local URL and the external IP address. Do you think it's a database problem?
