SmarterMail Password Changes Bug

Hi,

We have a SolidCP setup running 1.0.3 and everything is working grand apart from changing SmarterMail passwords. When I go to change a user's password and then save it, the new password doesn't seem to get pushed out to SmarterMail so I have to login to SmarterMail and then change the users password from there.

We are running SM 15.1

Many Thanks,

George

Just to double check: The password you use matches complexity? as currently there have been some issues where the pass complexity doesn't match but the system does not warn but just ignores it. (i tend to use something as P@ss1001 as a test)

I guess you forgot to tick "Change password" checkbox on. Please confirm?

This flakey way of changing SM password by having to tick the save password box has always annoyed me, if you don't tick it the password is only changed in the panel DB. Would be much better to have a separate change password dialog/page. Clients are always getting confused by this one.

I agree, the "Check to Enable Password Change" checkbox has been very confusing, and is still confusing in SolidCP 1.2.1. It has tripped me up several times, and also customers have complained the password change feature seems broken.

I assumed it would control the "Disable password changes" setting in SmarterMail.

Otherwise, I suggest removing the checkbox because I don't think it serves any real purpose. Or, SolidCP could display a warning message whenever an attempted password change is thwarted by the checkbox setting.  Thanks!

Hello,

Am i correct in thinking that if you set the password and dont check the box it wont change the password?

It seems like it could do with a reset password button instead of the checkbox?

Thanks,
